Short-period Seismometer

Model S-13/GS-13

  • 629 V/(m/sec) sensitivity / 2000 V/(m/sec)
  • Mass lock
  • Period adjust
  • Simplified field maintenance
  • Excellent stability over long periods of time
  • More than 4500 units in operation

The Geotech Model S-13 is a high resolution, premium seismometer capable of meeting the noise and stability requirements of the most demanding seismic studies. It features adjustable natural frequency from 0.75 to 1.1 Hz (typical 1.0 Hz).  The S-13 external mass lock, spring tension and operational adjustments are all fitted with seals that enable the instrument to be submerged to 100 feet without leakage. A major attribute of the S-13 is a mechanical design that lends itself to field repairs by unskilled persons using minimal spares. This quality, plus 30 years of outstanding performance in the field, qualify the S-13 to be the short-period seismometer standard by which others are compared.
