SHOCK WAVES FROM
SHUTTLE COLUMBIA

First trace represents vertical component of acceleration recorded at Dallas, Texas with a S-13J seismometer. The seismometer was sitting inside the building, on foam.

Last three traces represent the vertical, N-S, and E-W acceleration recorded near Waco, Texas, approximately 150 km South of Dallas, with a KS-2000 seismometer. The seismometer was sitting inside a small wood shed, and was saturated. The seismic station is under installation as a joint effort of Geotech Instruments and Baylor University.

The shock wave arrived first at Dallas, and several events can be idendified.
